Newsflash: DTC World Roars Into the Year of the Dragon With Back-to-Back Festive Activities

19/02/2024

Festivities mark the end of the Year of the Rabbit and the start of the Year of the Dragon. Entering the Year of the Dragon with a blast, our colleagues at DTC World were all geared up for some real celebrations!

First in the line-up to spread the Lunar New Year festive feelings is our company-wide CNY Decoration Contest, held at our headquarters in Singapore. The festive activity not only lifted the CNY mood in the office, but it also discovered the many hidden (and creative) talents among our DTC VICTORS. Channelling our energy and creative juices to adopt sustainability practices, the teams were challenged to repurpose and upcycle ‘unwanted’ items and materials in the office to create vibrant and captivating CNY decor. (As one would expect, the activity was also a fantastic “Spring cleaning” initiative for some decluttering!)

Bringing forth the many “Heng, Ong, Huat!” wishes and sayings through the emblematic decors, the teams battled it out — to make sure their creative ideas echoed prosperity, happiness and abundance for this festive season!

Our ManCos, Jason and Yee Chin, who were also on the judging panel, couldn’t be more impressed by the creativity and engagement shown by the teams. “All of you never failed to amaze us. From the amazing storytelling narrating your CNY decoration ideas to the energy shown, you guys are on fire! This is a true definition of DTC VICTORS!” remarked Jason. Thanking everyone for their dedication, enthusiasm and collaboration, Yee Chin expressed that she’s “proud and honoured to be part of a team like this.

To celebrate the commencement of work or business on an auspicious day, firecrackers and lion dance are one of among the many ‘not-to-be-missed’ traditions. Leading up to the long holidays, our colleagues in our China office gathered for a company dinner — a get-together to celebrate the past year’s hard work, before everyone returned to their hometowns for a long festive break. Speaking of lion dance, DTC World Vietnam was invited to grace the Tinh Anh Duong” Lion Dance Troupe year-end party. Held at Dam Sen Water Park, our colleagues attended the event, in which we were the sponsor.

Thereafter, DTC World Vietnam also held its town hall (to reflect past year’s accomplishments as well as the company’s plans for the new year) alongside a company-wide year-end party. Having lined up several cultural performances, our colleagues were donned in national costumes of Asian countries, strutting down the catwalk.

Meanwhile, our colleagues at DTC World Malaysia ushered in the Lunar New Year with some customary rituals and prayers, as a symbolic gesture to welcome new beginnings and seek blessings. Levels 1 and 2 at our Malaysia office are festooned with many DIY lanterns — repurposed from an assortment of promotional CNY red packets — sprucing up the office with a festive mood!

As we usher in positive vibes and optimism for greater business success, we, at DTC World, wish everyone a fantastic Year of the Dragon. Heng, Ong, Huat, ah!
